We’ve gotten several questions about how to start a one-on-one D&D campaign in the world of Azuria and now, we have the perfect video to help!
This post can also be found on Fantasy Afield.
In this video, Beth walks Storytellers (GMs/DMs) through how to start their one-on-one campaign in our homebrew world of Azuria.
If you’re not familiar, Azuria is the setting for all of the adventures in our shop, the location of our home campaign, and the setting for Beth’s epic fantasy series!
We start with an overarching context of Azuria and the history of the world. (You’ll find an overview of Azuria’s history here!)

Cosmic Events Unfold
At the cosmic level, the goddess Alessandra is returning to power.
To answer her rise, ancient heroes are returning to the world of Azuria, heroes who have been dormant for 5000 years.
This is where I would encourage you to add in your PC and their arc—it is their destiny to join the Soul Shepherds and to awaken these ancient champions from their slumber so that they might aid the prime plane and stand against Alessandra’s power.
And Kingdoms Vie for Power
At the kingdom level, in Caldara, Linolynn has just declared war on Hadvar, sending shockwaves across the region.
The Land of Vampires campaign also starts here. The PC is in Linolynn when they hear the first rumors of this war.
Across the Infinite Ocean, in Tor’stre Vahn, Andel-ce Hevra seeks to expand its empire. They’re striving to eliminate all other religions and non-“divine” sources of magic, especially that of witches and druids.
In the Elven Realms, the elves have retreated to the walls and borders of their three cities: Invae Alinor, Thyles Thamor, and Shade Rest.Powerful fae creatures return to the untamed wilds and forests of the island kingdoms, roaming unchecked across the land.
I hope this video helps you get started with your adventures in Azuria!
