Tales of Eldura: Session Zero

This post recounts the session zero of our Descent into Avernus campaign including how to prep as a DM and goals for a session zero. The primary goal of a session zero is to help the player get to know their character, and we discuss how Garreth, our PC, did just that in our first Tales of Eldura session.

A Serial One-on-One Campaign for 5e

We have a really exciting new project to share with you for this summer—a serial one-on-one campaign for 5e! The campaign is set in Steymhorod, a vampire-ruled region of the Shadowlands. We have not one but two vampires for your party to face, and it’s specially designed for duet play!

One of the first things you’ll want to figure out when prepping your one-on-one Descent into Avernus campaign is your DMPC. Will you select one of the characters from the book, like Reya or Lulu, or will you create a character to complement the PC? For DMs and players of Curse of Strahd, Totems of the Svalich Woods is a one-shot side quest for one player and one DM or an additional Barovian adventure for duet CoS campaigns! Several forms of darkness permeate this adventure. The twisted, primal evil of the Svalich Woods and the Dark Powers represents one manifestation, but the town of Barovia and its traditions encompass another.
