If you would like to support the blog, get more involved in the DnD Duet community, and/or get additional content for your own one-on-one game each month, we’d love for you to consider supporting us on Patreon!
On Patreon, we create extra resources every month that you can incorporate into your own duet game. If you’re looking for mini-adventures to bridge between campaign arcs, vibrant NPCs, custom monsters, fun magical items, or hand-drawn maps, you’re in the right place!
But beyond all the goodies, we’d love for you to help us with something bigger! Our main project is a 5e duet campaign book set in our homebrew world of Azuria. While we’d love to help with adapting published campaigns for one-on-one, and we’ll continue to publish resources on DMsGuild as well, we also want to share a long-form duet campaign and world with you.
But we need your help to bring that dream into reality! Each month, we’ll create magical items, dungeon/location maps, creatures, NPCs, and mini-adventures that can be easily plugged into any campaign. We would be honored for you to support us along the way and to join our community and to work alongside you as we discuss and develop the lovely space of 1-on-1 RPGs!
Sample Resources
If you’re curious about the resources we offer on Patreon each month, be sure to check out The Penshaw Poisonings, which is three of our mini-adventures put together, and Granny’s House, another mini-adventure.
In addition to the world of Azuria, these resources—custom magical items and NPCs, hand-drawn maps, and unique mini-adventures—can easily be inserted into your homebrew campaign or add variety and intrigue to an officially-published campaign.
You’ll find a few other example resources at the end of this post.
Rewards Tiers
We have three patron tiers for you to choose from. The first tier, at $2/month, receives a custom magical item, hand-drawn map, and new creature each month.
In addition to the rewards above, patrons at the second tier of $5/month will also receive an NPC and mini-adventure that incorporate the map, creature, and item and will fit any campaign or setting. The mini-adventures will later be part of our World of Azuria duet campaign book!
Patrons at the third tier, for $10/month, will secure a second, custom-made NPC and magical item or a custom creature each month! This tier is limited in number and currently full, though we hope to be able to open additional spaces in the future.
Funding Goals
We are so thankful for the amazing support we receive from our patrons! They enable us to run this site ad-free and help us fund the other aspects of our business including free adventures like The Penshaw Poisonings and our YouTube channel!
We’ve reached several really exciting funding goals on Patreon including patron-requested adventures, creatures, and items for our monthly rewards, and patron-specific Q&A videos!
Future goals include monthly one-shot adventures and streaming one-on-one play!

Important Note: The playable content we release for patrons (and in this case, you, our wonderful blog readers) must be kept exclusive to your personal gaming tables and cannot be distributed, sold, or used in commercial or non-commercial products, downloads, giveaways, contests, websites, etc.
Magical Item: Longsword of Fearful Influence
Weapon (longsword), rare (requires attunement)
Taken from the hand of its former bearer mid-combat, the dark metal blade shines coldly in your hand. The iron absorbs surrounding light; even your eyes seem more intense, frightening, in their reflection back to you.
A +1 longsword that deals an extra 1d8 psychic damage to its targets. Once per day, the sword’s wielder can cast charm person and charm monster, spell save DC 15.
When attuned to the sword (either immediately or over a period of time), it allows its wielder to gain proficiency in either Intimidation or Persuasion, depending on how they most often use the sword’s special magical properties.
Additional Notes
As with any magical items, the details of this magical item are at the DM’s discretion. DMs, if +1 is too intense, perhaps that’s something you allow the character to work up to as they increase in ability and time spent with the sword. We’ve also added in properties so you can use it with or without attunement to help regulate the sword’s power while maintaining flexibility. Perhaps you don’t want it to have spellcasting without attunement and so the player would need to decide if they want to use it simply as a +1 longsword that does psychic damage or attune and have spells and a new proficiency available.
For added flavor, ask the player to think about how the sword does psychic damage and add that to their description of dealing with monsters and people. Does it conjure up images or memories of what the target most fears? Do they begin to hear ghostly whispers at every step?
Mini-Adventure, NPC, and Hand-Drawn Map
Our Granny’s House adventure is designed to be dropped into any campaign or setting, especially if you’re looking for an interesting hag or witch encounter.
We also love the NPC we’ve included, an herbalist with an adventure hook for your players to get into the narrative. If you’re playing through our Crystalline Curse Trilogy,* we think this would work really well below Second Glance* and Third Time’s the Charm* or after you’ve completed the trilogy, though you may need to scale the encounter a bit.

We hope these resources are useful to you, and we’d love for you to join us on Patreon to receive them each month! Our $2 Ranger tier receives a magical item and hand-drawn map every month, and the $5 Druid tier also gets the mini-adventure and NPC with backstory and adventure hook!
The Big Project
As a patron, you’ll be contributing to the creation of a long-form duet campaign and make it possible for us to create full-length one-on-one adventures in Azuria that we’ll fund on Kickstarter and publish through Grove Guardian Press.
We’ll keep developing one-on-one adventures for DMsGuild, but we need your help to put together such a large project. We really hope you’ll join us and let us partner with you further in your two-person play!
