Greetings adventurers and GMs, and have we got a special treat for you!
An above-ground dungeon, a harrowing quest to save a dryad and her initial, if unfortunate rescuers! Plus plenty of interesting NPCs and surprises along the way!
This adventure is near and dear to my heart in part because it’s based on an above-ground dungeon Jonathan designed for me way back in our game. It was still one of the most perfect, surprising, and exciting dungeons we’ve ever had, and that includes animal menagerie dungeons!
Sacrifice in the Sanctum also feels like getting back to our roots in terms of the depth of detail in the adventure itself. It’s more like our free adventure for our newsletter community, The Penshaw Poisonings, and like our adventures on DMsGuild or the longer one-shots like The Swamplands Witch—in other words, there’s a lot of world and story in this adventure!

Adventure Overview (or at least the first part)
The party begins in Thyles Thamor where First Druid Leafbright enlists them to go after her loyal band of pixies, the Thornseekers, who should have returned with a magical Shard from the forest by now but haven’t. She’s growing increasingly concerned.
It’s up to the party to rescue the Thornseekers and bring back the Shard.
Oh and while they’re at it, they’ll find, they need to rescue a dryad in distress too!
There are other twists and turns along the way—I don’t want to spoil anything!
